Jeff has completed 26 years policing. He is currently a Detective Constable within the Gwent Police Learning & Development Unit with investigative interview training at the core of his role. He is a level 2 specialist in suspect, sex offender , Child protection, adult vulnerability and terrorism interviewing. Jeff has interviewed on over 65 murder investigations and has been commended numerous times for the quality of his work.
Jeff also performs the role of an interview advisor within Gwent Police Major Crime. Jeff has particular expertise in the complex arena of infant homicide , has successfully prosecuted three shaking baby cases and is currently engaged on two other live investigations. These are complex cases with medical evidence and the briefing of and interviewing of “expert witnesses” vital to their success. Jeff is part of the implementation team within Gwent Police for the new digital interview project. Jeff graduated from the University of Wales Newport achieving his Certificate in Education: PcET Jeff has responsibility for the training of investigative interviewing and continued professional development of staff through mentoring and assessment of work based portfolios within Gwent Police.
Jeff is an accomplished brass musician (Cornet) and his talents are in demand both in Wales and Internationally.
