How does one go about becoming a fraud investigator?

Certified fraud examiner (CFE) designation is a professional credential awarded to those who investigate and resolve fraud cases. The experts who have undergone in-depth training to become fraud examiners and who are skilled in identifying fraudulent conduct, looking into scams, and closing fraud cases. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners grants this professional degree to those who are skilled in the fields of fraud detection, investigation, and settlement.
Fraud examiners look into a range of crimes, such as money laundering, tax evasion, embezzlement, and illegal investment schemes. Depending on the nature of the inquiry, a fraud examiner may be asked to interview suspects, testify in civil and criminal prosecutions, and/or prepare legal reports to be submitted to a state or federal financial supervisory authority.

Apply for the CFE exam
Four qualifying sections make up the online application for the CFE Exam: Qualifications, Experience and Character, Signature Statement, and Payment. Pass the Certified Fraud Examiner Exam
You must pass the CFE Exam to obtain the CFE Credential. The four main areas of knowledge that make up the fraud examination body of knowledge are tested in the CFE Exam:
- Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes
- Law
- Investigation
- Fraud Prevention and Deterrence
Applying for membership and signing up for ACFE courses can be done via the ACFE or Netrika websites. Candidates need to finish a few stages in the application procedure to register. The CFE exam costs, qualifications, experience and character, and a signature statement make up the four parts of the online application. Verification of the candidate’s job history and education is required. ACFE India also requests three letters of professional recommendation and a recent photo. Users will get an email confirming their application within five to seven days of submitting it.
