As the Director of Security & Risk Consulting at Netrika – a global leader in risk mitigation and integrity management services, operating in emerging and frontier markets, Kartik is responsible for supervising the growth of this ‘Practice’. In his role, he is dedicated to boosting the ambit of his services while developing existing services to unlock their maximum potential.
His rich educational and professional journey spans over three decades. He is a B.Sc. from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an M.Sc. in Nautical Sciences, from Cochin University of Science & Technology, Kochi. He also holds a Diploma in Shipping Management from Narottam Morarjee Institute of Shipping, Mumbai and underwent a certificate course in Business Administration from Amity University, Noida.
In his professional capacity he is a certified ‘External Verifier’ and ‘Lead Auditor’ from Industry Qualifications (IQ), UK for international certification in the skilling domain; a ‘Certified Crime Prevention Specialist’(CCPS) and a ‘Certified Corporate Security Management Specialist’(CCSMS) having done his certification from the Chartered International Institute of Security and Crisis Management (CIISCM), Singapore. He is also a certified auditor for hotel safety & security from Sky Touch Global Hotel Security Consulting, Australia. Over the years he has accrued a wealth of experience and expertise across domains that lie at the convergence of multiple fields and competencies. These include technology, security & safety, business development, Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP)/ FET/ SQRs, solution based strategic selling, and management consulting, among others.
An Indian Navy Veteran, Kartik retired as a Commander following 21 years of meritorious service. As Joint Director Naval Operations, he looked after the ‘Ocean Management’ division and was instrumental in leading the planning and implementation of the country’s ‘Coastal Security’ initiative between 2008-14. He was involved in identification of relevant technology and vendors for enhancing coastal security, planning of numerous meetings and coordination with various government bodies/ Ministries and other stakeholders. His role also saw him conducting NCNC trials and recommending equipment along with supervising the execution of various measures to enhance coastal security. He also served on the ‘Offshore Security Coordination Committee’ (OSCC), wherein his primary task comprised providing security clearances for offshore oil exploration, addressing security guidelines, and formulating policies for offshore security.
In his corporate career, he has managed and been a part of many high-profile projects dealing with designing technology based solutions, enterprise-wide solutions, ERP solutions, conduct of security audits, preparation of detailed project reports, risk assessments etc for clients across industries which include MNCs, and Defence organisations.
