Certified Internal Auditor is a globally recognized credential for internal auditors that certifies your proficiency per the IIA’s International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
However, to obtain the esteemed credential, you must possess the skills and meet the standard criteria of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
You must fulfill the CIA exam entry requirements, and provide a character reference form, and a government-issued picture ID to be eligible for the CIA challenge exam. You must also pass all three exam sections and provide documentation of your professional experience.
What qualifications do you need to become a certified internal auditor?
- Bachelor’s Degree (or Equivalent): To take the exam, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree, however, they are not required to have the necessary work experience.
