- Apply to the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA): To become a certified CIA, submit an online application through the IIA’s Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS).
- Enroll in the CIA Exam: Register for the CIA exam online via the CCMS.
- Prepare for the CIA Exam: Utilize various study materials and mock tests to adequately prepare for the exam.
- Pass the CIA Exam: The CIA exam is available at Pearson VUE testing facilities worldwide. Successful completion of all three sections is required.
